Hill Climbs: Onwards and Upwards!

Published by Clinterval on

It’s been a quiet couple of weeks at Clinterval Coaching with most riders winding down from the TT season. A brave few are winding it up though and competing in hill climbs, with four riders at Worcester St John’s Shelsley Walsh hill climb today.

Hill Climb Plan client Jen Doyle finished 16th of 24 women competitors at the Swain’s Lane HC in London on Saturday, but she still put out her best power this season finishing in 5:05 on Shelsley Walsh.

Rugby RCC’s Jason Baggett decided to ride Shelsley “just for fun”, finishing in 4:23 to place 34th overall.

Gearing up for the Nationals, B38 Underpin Racing’s Jack O’Neill chopped 5s off his time from last year to clock 2:53, just two seconds behind Matt Clinton finishing in 2:51.  The two would finish 3rd and 2nd respectively.

On great form, the event would be won for a second year in a row by AeroCoach’s Richard Bussell, the current National Champion flying up the climb in a course record of 2:36.
